Olympics Thoughts

- it's entertaining, but why is snowboarding halfpipe an olympic event? isn't that what the x-games are for? besides, if they allow snowboarding in the winter olympics, shouldn't the summer olympics bring in skateboarding?

- why is the men's downhill scheduled so early in the games? isn't that considered one of the glamour events of the winter games? why have it happen on the second day? is the winter games being run by the same group of rednecks that run nascar?

- every ski jumper should change his first name to matti

I just can't bring myself to care much over the Olympics.

Love the Olympics, but of course it's actually a big event in Germany. Though the British don't care.

On Halfpipe: One reason, they needed the US to win some medals in Salt Lake City.

On the downhill: I am pretty sure its historic that its run on the first weekend. Kind of a kickoff event.

So I missed the downhill, and I think I missed the ski jump as well. OK, well there goes any reason at all to put on the games. The Olympics have become a commercial, and have no intrinsic value to athletics or the spirit of competition whatsoever.

Halfpipe?

I'm still pissed that the summer Olympics only showed 20 minutes of Judo at 1:30 AM, and I didn't see any wrestling, which is one of the first recorded Olympic sports on Earth.

Fucking pansies and their figure skating, synchronized anything, CURLING, etc...

And I'm sorry. At a time when football is over, and I was just about to dive into the NHL even deeper after a year long hiatus, I can't stand that the Olympics are full of NHL players, and that the season is stopped because of it.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGHHHHHHH!!
And Simon, not to attack your love of the games, but Germany likes it because that's all they have. The Brits don't care because they have soccer (summer Olympic sport) but they don't have what most of the other teams would call a winter. They have cold and fog and rain. They don't get snow, not like here anyway. You want snow? I have 16 fucking inches of it all over my yard. If I could stand the Nascar retards of the south and the lack of good food, I'd move back to GA...

Breathe.............

And I'm done...

Hey, not to swtich gears, but i am back after a week in scenic Wisconsin, the land of cheese, cheeseheads and the Green Bay Packers. Just read an interview with Tom Heckert and I am very depressed. They could be playing possum, but it sounds like the Eagles are not going to make a big splash in free agency and are going to look at McCoy at OLB, not to mention Simoneau again, and are kind of hoping that McDougal is healthy and going to contribute next year. They love Cole, but realize that his reps are limited with his size. Now, I know a GM (unless he is Pat Gillick bless his heart) is not going to come out and say that they are weak in areas. Reggie Brown is going to be the #1 it appears, too. So after basically ruining my fall, the Eagles are claiming to be going after inexpensive talent and just claiming last year was a fluke. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!
You mean that they didn't learn anything from last year?

I am sorry, but this better be lip service. They love last year's draft, too. Excluding McCoy who looks like is going to be pencilled in at OLB, they love Moats, Herremens, Patterson, Cole, and Brown. Can't really disagree there. Go to philadelphiaeagles.com if you want to join me in my depression.

just heard that the "Dominator" was hurt today. While I'm happy it was him, if it would have been a Flyer I would go through the roof....
