Signing Day
good article in today's inquirer about what a great job larry johnson sr. did in maryland -- signing virtually every top recruit in the state. looks like some good times ahead for penn state fans.
There is a really good article by John Smallwood on the Sixers and Iverson's future with the team on foxsports.com today. Probably also in the Daily News. I have to admit, I am a big Sixers fan. As a matter of fact I am probably more of a Sixers fan than a Flyers fan, but that is because I played basketball and relate and never played ice hockey. I am still a huge Flyers fan, though. Whatever. Anyway, this is a team with no direction, folks. No identity, no direction, just blah. I pretty much threw the towel in after the Wizards debacle. The thing is, I like some players, especially some of the young guys, but that is all. No bench, no dominant center, no high scoring 2/3....just an exciting 5 foot 11 inch point guard and a washed up power forward (who still gets 20 and 10). Blah....Billy King has just made this team so bland and average. Nothing to get excited about.
This just in....Sixers trade Steven Hunter for nothing (2 second round picks)....now I thought he was a dog (another great Billy King off-season pick-up), but for a team that is basically depleted for players (Lee Nailon given time off, Louis Williams not really playing at all, Steven Hunter gone, Mashburn injured forever) I don't get this....maybe forecasting another move? who knows, but again nice job Billy King.
