Brett Myers
a couple of people have emailed me asking for my take on myers. i've been silent because i think it's obvious that what he did was ridiculous.
from a sports standpoint, whatever mental defect he has that enables him to punch his wife in the face is the same defect that i believe will prevent him from becoming a true front line pitcher. i was as hyped as anyone to see him when he came up as a rookie, but after watching him pitch and watching him break down mentally time and time again, i just don't see stardom in his future. he's unstable at his core.

how much more of a tailspin could the phillies get into? can't win a game, lose our best pitcher to, uh, mental defect, and have a manager that can't seem to get things right. remember earlier in the season when the phils were "red hot" and it seemed like we actually had a chance to make the playoffs this year?
i miss those days.
On Brett Myers -
It's over for me. It really doesn't matter to me if he turns into a star or not. For me, sports is about entertainment first and winning second. I'll never root for him again, so the Phillies may as well dump him, as far as I'm concerned.
Sorry for the bitterness; it's just the way it is for me.

In the middle of the second loss for the Phillies yesterday, I was talking to my dad on the phone. We're going to the July 5th game against the Padres, and I asked him what he thought of the upcoming game. He said "Well, I'm fairly certain it'll have fireworks afterwards" (which is actually why I go at all), and this is coming from a man who is a die-hard Phillies fan, has been all his life. Even tried out as a pitcher for the Phil's when I was like -2. He was even tellign me there was hope for the season up until before the Myers situation. Now....He can't wait for hockey and football to start back up....
sigh.....hockey and football.....
