Confession

scrapplelog is on a much needed vacation at the beach. however, i do have one confession i need to make. once every four years... i watch soccer. it's strange considering how boring i usually find the sport, but i do find world cup soccer to actually be watchable -- entertaining even.

i find that getting a sport's best players together to play a tournament where nationalistic pride is involved makes just about any event compelling... even if it is soccer. too bad the US sucks, i could see this taking off if the US ever gets a decent national squad.

Good for you. I think everyone's entitled to get some guilty pleasure from one fringe sport. At least yours doesn't involve grown men in tight clothes riding around on bicycles.

How about:
1. Pro Wrestling (my son is also into it, we love Finlay with his little psycho Leprechaun he gets out from under mat after a win)
2. World's Strongest Man Competition...I even know some of the names...Magnus Ver Magnussen, Gregor Edmunds, Ivan Pugalkeski
3. Any NFL skills competition
4. NFL combine workouts, prior to the draft

How 'bout hurling? I know it's not an American game, but it's a wicked sport....violent and fast paced. Definitely entertaining.

PFT's reporting that Strahan might be gay. This could easily end up being the biggest football story of the year if it's true.

That was Shockey. Saw the Phils/Yanks game last night. I freaking hate NY fans in all sports, shapes, sizes, and ages.

This Phillies team is stagnant and needs a breath of fresh air.

Shockey, Strahan. One's an offensive a$$hole and the other is an offensive moron that plays on Defence...

It's depressing being a Phils fan right now. We are stuck in such a rut....just when you might've thought that we could pull out a win (finally!) against the sox in the 12th, stupid big poppy comes up and drives in the winning run.
Ugh.
