It's on like Donkey Kong

Settle down, people. This blog isn't quite dead yet. But the off season finally is. Woo-hoo! I love my Eagles. I love reading about them. I love reading about football in general. But discussing them before the real games start is just not that appetizing to me. Fake Life (http://scrapplelog.blogspot.com/2009/11/fake-life.html#links) = cool. Fake Fake Life = not cool.

Well, the eternal optimist is back and I see great things for this year. And by great things I'm talking about 9-10 wins and another playoff berth. The naysayers will trot out their normal excuses for why this will be the case and this team will once again prove them wrong. I've never understood all the haters. This team has as much chance to win as any other and more than most.

I'll be back to break down week 1 later on in the week. Hint: it's nice when the other team's entire secondary is out of action.

Thank you. No bumble it's not dead. As stated, there's nothing to talk about. There has never been a team that you knew who they were and what their season would be by watching their pre-season games.
I think the Eagles are 8-8, maybe 7-9. But I also think that's good. Just because your team doesn't make the playoffs 1 year, doesn't mean they stink and you shouldn't enjoy watching them.
I think we're going to see some really good flashes of greatness from Kolb. I think next year they go deep into the playoffs. This year is tough. A huge amount of youth out there. Can't wait actually.
I was surprised they cut Macho Harris, but kind of saw Cornelius Ingram with all of the injury issues.

Stacey Andrews is gone. Probably one of the bigger free agent bust of the Reid era after Kearse. Huh, that would be a good topic for our fearless leader to tackle if he ever gets back to this site.

I think a 7-9 season is likely, but in a "start badly and end strong" way. The foundation will be laid for future teams to really do something special. Kolb will be fine-he'll have the ups and downs that any rookie QB faces. I will say that their O line is just terrible. The whole shenanigans the last few days clearly supports that. If that unit could eventually pull together, and with experience and better health they will by the 10th or 11th game, they should move the ball. I am realistic about this season. They clearly are not SB bound, so it will be a helluva lot easier to take the ride and be pleasantly surprised at times when/if they beat a few good teams.

We asked for this-it is something different. Change can be painful and usually isn't instantaneous, but I fully support what they are trying to do. I am excited for Birds ball for the first time in a long time. And not because I think they'll be that great, but rather because I truly have no clue what they'll be.

On a different note, pre season is vanilla, no blitzes, no special packages, etc. I agree with that. However, you do have to be concerned with how sloppy they were (penalties), how poorly they covered kicks (should improve now they've whittled the roster and will play actual starters) and their O line (no easy fix for this one. Those are the big 3 things I gleaned from the pre season.

No doubt. The penalties and porous o-line are definite concern. Those are also the type of thing that can carry over into the regular season.

If the business is viable were it not for the debts or the pressure from the creditors then there is a great chance of the business being sold off as a pre-pack subject to terms and conditions which you will be advised.
