Tough Losses
a couple of tough losses by the phils. i'd be convinced i jinxed them with my stupid poll if i didn't think the real reason they lost both of those games was due to manager imcompetence. egads.
he's making mistakes before the game even begins. how in tarnation does he run pat burrell -- a guy who hits .238 against righties and is limited due to pain in his vagina -- out last night against ramon ortiz while leaving david dellucci -- a guy who not only is a better player than burrell but hits .303 against righties on the bench?
how is gillick not getting a brain aneurysm from watching this guy?

Hey, Johnny Estrada has asked the Diamondbacks to work out a trade with Philadelphia...he actually told them he wants to come back and he wants to be a Phillie....I would be okay with this....
I couldn't put Charlie down. Yes, he does some bonehead things, but they have won more games than they lost with him....I was watching the news today and they went to Charlie talking to the media and how irate he was with the wrong call with Utley's homer....I didn't catch a word that Charlie said, and he talked for a good minute...it was just all buzzes and bells and whistles....man he can't talk at all.
Also, there is no way Charlie is as dreadful as the faceless 3 from the 80s---Leyva, Felske (how long did he last?) and Pat Corrales...that was disastrous.

i think corrales was over .500 during his phillies tenure. lee elia was much, much worse.
as unlikeable as recent phillies teams have been, those were the dark ages. i think we had elia, leyva, felske back-to-back-to-back (shudder).
btw - elia had one of the greatest meltdowns in sports history (probably only jim mora's two meltdowns come close)

I hate Manuel with every fiber in my body!
