The ONLY light here is that apparently they didn't game plan for the Ravens at all. I mean nothing. Reid said he just wanted to concentrate on finishing training camp. We'll see. O-line really needs to step up.
A guy I work with really breaks down game film and he said there were some surprising good things out there. He said Bunkley was good, Patterson in position and making piles, Gocong actually always where he was supposed to be, Herremans and Will Thomas both good. He said Trotter and Spikes and Runyan were God awful. That sort of makes sense as veterans probably dread these meaningless games. He also said Spikes and Trotter lit it up when he went to camp, so he thinks they have it, but he said Trot was especially terrible on Monday and he is officially paying attention to Trot as a potential weak link. He also reamed Reid for dumping the run and getting out of whack again-65/35 pass to run. You just cannot change a leopard I guess.
The two biggest turds on the team are on IR for the year. Both should have been cut, now they'll get paid. Ouch.
PFT is reporting that Andrews is not only likely done for the year, but his career could be done as well. The Eagles just have the worst luck with their 1st rounders this decade.

Translation: I guy I work with watches replays of the television broadcast a few times and then reads what the Eagles post on their website and convinces himself it's true.
TMG, good bust on Bumble....that is funny.....breaks down film....unless you have the film, which is different than a TV broadcast (and you wouldn't be able to get), that is impossible....plus I didn't think Spikes played that poorly....I did like Barksdale a lot, though....apparently Albany played U. of Delware last year and he was an absolute stud.
wasn't me... though i do have an idea of who it could be.
i was going to point out though that unless he has access to the overhead coaches view (which i believe only gets released to NFL Films and the teams), it's pretty difficult to tell what's happening on TV. when you're watching on TV, i find it difficult to tell what defense they're trying to play let alone assess blown assignments. i find being at the game gives me a much better sense of who is and isn't playing well.
Yeah, opened myself up to that one, but the guy is pretty legit. He tapes every game and watches each player on each play. He was a college lineman, so he tends to focus on O and D line more than DB. If I watched each player multiple times on each play, I could generally tell what was going on, but only whether an O or D lineman got their ass kicked. Like I could tell that Runyan sucked the other night, but I wrote off as not wanting to play a meaningless pre season game.
From what I saw tonight, Trot does look slow. I thought the same last year, and he had a bad year. I thought Abiamirri looked good again. This kid needs to be in the DE rotation.
Too bad about Andrews. Too much weight on that peg.

Good to see Dawk practicing again.

i fear the worst for andrews, but it seems like PFT is speculating rather than reporting.
let's hope it's more smoke than fire. like when ben roethlisberger claimed he broke his toe/foot when it wasn't broken.
Reid said today that he thinks Andrews will be ready for the opener. So who really knows?
