Bailey Brothers

was reading some blah blah blah interview with champ bailey, but i did find something interesting: champ was one of three brothers. the three boys were named champ, boss, and ron. is that ridiculous?

i always thought it was hilarious that someone would actually name their kids "champ" and "boss", but it's beyond funny that they named the third one "ron".

The funniest thing I have ever heard, and I've heard a lot of odd and funny things, is that AI's mother gave birth 2 years ago (she's like 45 by the way)and named her boy child Sir Allen Iverson. I am not shitting you, she named the kid Sir Allen. You cannot script that sort of mayhem.

My opinion on the game:
I was ready to give them major props for coming back and winning and then they stopped playing...again.

However, I believe that this was the Saints kitchen sink game. They schemed, blitzed like hell, and still only had a 10-3 lead until Moats runs into the return guy. If that wouldn't have happened it would have been 24-10. Game over.
The Eagles, on the other hand, came in with a very vanilla game plan (mistake) and got killed in the first half. But looking at how they responded in the 2nd, I am still not to worried.

SIMON

PS: WHO THE FUCK WAS THE EXTRA FUCKING PLAYER ON THE SACK BY TRENT COLE THAT PUT THEM OUT OF FG RANGE.....I WANT TO KILL THAT GUY...
Was it Gaither, or whatever his name is. He never plays. What the hell is he doing on the field?

That muff wasn't Wynn's fault, it was Moats. I guess it's legal to block a player into the returner although that doesn't seem right.

Lewis' issue (anyone else noticed the graphics at the begining had him listed as the FS and Dawk the SS?) is that he sucks in coverage. I know that. You know that. He knows that. The problem is JJ keeps giving him top coverage responsibilities in their cover 2(?) scheme. Is this because of the new Dawkins as LB scheme JJ put in? I don't remember Lewis getting exposed this consistantly in the past and can't imagine he's getting worse. This needs to get fixed pronto.

Simon, that 12th player was directly responsible for the "sack". They didn't get to him for 5+ seconds on that play so it wasn't the line's pressure that got it, rather good coverage down field.

But Joe,

Isn't this essentially a confirmation that the Eagles did the right thing? The fact the the Redskins had interest tells me Vincent is done.

probably. I just like the guy, and would have liked to have seen him retire as an Eagle. I'd still like Ike Reese to come back......heh...

The difference is Ike Reese is still effective and could help out our below average punt and kickoff coverage units.

Punt and kick coverage units are not below average. Return units yes, but their coverage has been very good except for maybe two times this year.

Now if you can find me an ex-player who can come in and coach, who actually likes to follow the rules of fundamental football including establish the run and stop the run, then that guy I wnat. We don't have one of those.

Let's bring back Buddy Ryan. At least we could have some fun listening to press conferences...

Not only do I predict that the Flyers won't make the playoffs, but that they won't even be in contention. 16 teams out of 30 make the playoffs, and I'm willing to bet that if 20 teams could make the Playoffs, the Flyers still wouldn't make it.

They are one of the slowest teams in the NHL, with their best line being full of almosts or has-beens. Beyond that, no depth, no defense and only 1 good goaltender who is playing hurt.

Yeah but it's hockey, so who cares? Aside from 20,000 local Cherry Hill and Philly area guys, does anyone really enjoy hockey in the Philly area?

Well, I probably would if Comcrap didn't own the team and I could watch games on satellite.

There's a LOT more people that care about hockey in this town than baseball, and definitely than basketball. And I grew up 30 miles west of philly. I remember many times where we were kicked out of the parking lot of QVC and other businesses for playing midnight street hockey.

Comcast too shall fall Phil. Remember the Chinese probverb: "If you wait by the river long enough, you will see the bodies of your enemies float by."

One more coment. I'm going to give credit to the Metro news paper for a comment about the Flyers this morning. They just got rid of 3 players and brought 3 up from the Phantoms. the article likened that to re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Dead on.
