I've thought about it for 2 days now...could you imagine being a Redskin fan? Oh man, we think we are frustrated....how bad can it get? Year in and year out they spend money, a lot of money, on the perceived "best" free agents, who almost always turn out to be not as good as advertised or over-the-hill. Archuleta is the highest paid DB in the league and can't play...nothing more than a hard hitting white dude. Randle El is making zero impact....they bring back a Hall of Fame coach and he seriously looks like he's totally lost grasp of this game. 3 "head coach" types at Head Coach, O-Coordinator and D-Coordinator....a telephone book size playbook and they have an offensive that runs 2 plays stretch run right or left and a QB bootleg dump to the RB or TE....a QB that can't play a lick and a rookie who is finally going to get a chance...which says to me that...he can't play either. Boy, was that what the doctor ordered or what? And this totally perplexes me....I know no one except The Big Dog likes Duckett....what a waste he is down there, no time at all and Portis is out for a month....he comes in all white and clean and gets 1 run up the gut for 12 yards or so....and never touches field again. I heard Sam Huff before the game and he's as frustrated as he claims the fans are...what a mess.

i have no sympathy for them. this is nothing compared to what eagles fans have been through.

it's a good experience for them. maybe it will toughen them up a little, help them develop their "man muscles" (to use my favorite ben-ism).

Seriously. Next you're gonna want us to start feeling sorry for DAL because they have to deal with TO's antics.

I don't feel sorry for them at all, men. I f'in hate the Redskins....I wish teams in the East outside of the Eagles would lose everygame....when I was at U. of D, there were tons on Giants and Skins fans in my frat and I learned to loathe both with equal zeal. My point, which was obviously missed, was that they really suck and they have really not done crap during the Snyder regime....I wish we could play that sorry ass team every weak. Personally, when I start to question Big Red, I just need to look down 95 at that train wreck....actually I loathe the Skins.

My bad. The surprising thing is how often they've missed on their FAs. Portis is probably the best player they've brought in and that was via a trade that sent the best cover corner in the NFL (a much more valuable position) to Denver.

Effing wow. FO now has 3 of the 6 best teams in the NFL from the NFC East in both total and Weighted DVOA. And some guy has all 3 with a 60%+ chance of each making the playoffs. I thought this would be a tough division, but didn't see it coming out this strong.

I agree with the Enormous Canine. The Skins are a travesty. Guess it just goes to show that money cannot buy championships-see Orioles, Skins, now Yanks.

But I must hand it to Snyder. That guy builds and fills a 90,000 seat stadium, he charges parking from every fan regardless of whether you drive or not, and he saturates the ghetto market with jerseys in every bodega. He makes money hand over fist while flushing a once proud franchise down the crapper. I feel sorry for Skins fans who are like us-I have a few friends who bleed maroon and gold. They just want competence and competitiveness and they get Danny rotisserie ball. My friend envies us. She tells me all the time how jealous she is of the way the Birds draft and build. When I get down on Reid, she shuts me down and says, look at the alternative.

Bull, Lurie and Banner have done the right thing...bring in the football people and let them work their magic....the only thing Banner gets involved in, and which I think he's a pure genius, is money....he knows the loop holes, the way to structure contracts, how to work the cap, etc. Plus, and I will give him his props for this, he is not afraid to tell the truth....a couple of years ago he was on Daily News Live and they point blank asked him if he was going to bring back Brian Mitchell... Banner, goes "No". This little, weaselly, number cruncher does have some cajones. Doesn't mince words and beat around the bush. And everyone wanted B Mitch back, but I think that they realized the money he was asking for and his declining talent did not warrant his asking price. And look what happened. The Eagles do A LOT of good things. But, I think the smartest thing that Big Red needs to do and keep doing is let Mohrningweg run, focus more of his time on defense and clock management and special teams (which he may do anyway)...and really (and this may occur, but I dont' think so), let Heckert be a dissenting voice and not be a "yes" man....it's just more balance to the whole system....and one thing which I support Big Red on is the naysayers who believe Big Red is going to get involved in the offense during tough situations....of course he is going to, he's not going to let Morhniweg on an island....what coach in their right mind doesn't get involved in the offense when they are down and in crunch time....that is ludicrous. Every coach will and should....don't get on Reid for that, as that is what coaches do!!! If he steps back, in general and lets Morhniweg do his job, then we should be fine and have some balance.
